How to load a car on the trailer
- Park the truck and trailer on flat, level ground and set the ramps.
- Line the car up straight before it touches the ramps. Use a spotter.
- Drive or winch it up slowly until the engine sits just ahead of the trailer axles. That puts about 10–15% of the total weight on the hitch, which keeps the trailer from swaying.
- Strap all four corners with ratchet straps over the tires or to solid frame points. Never strap to suspension parts or the bumper.
- Check the straps again after a few miles. They loosen as the load settles.
Towing it
A car trailer with a car on it is long and heavy. Leave more room to stop, take turns wider than you think, and keep it at or under 55 mph. California’s speed limit is 55 for any vehicle towing a trailer. Test the trailer brakes in a parking lot before you get on the highway.
